Whether fur, feather, or blood, the Wachtelhund is an excellent bird dog who works hard for all your hunting needs in even the roughest conditions. However, don't let their outdoor ambition fool you, the Wachtelhund is also a great family dog! They enjoy the company of people and dwelling within the home. This rare breed is still owned and sold almost exclusively to foresters and professional hunters in Germany where they are used for hunting feathered game, including waterfowl, and furred game from hare, fox, and wild boar. They are not pack hunters but one-on-one hunters and able to hold a wounded boar at bay. In Germany there are many hunt and health tests required before breeding. In the United States they are bred by hunters and sold only to hunters.

2018 - Camo vom Blacks Wolf River X Rosa OakRidge - T Litter
This is a well balanced breeding of both German and American lines. Camo presents with a background of Blue Moon (Jade), Diesel, and Last Chance (Duke) and sired by a German import. Rosa is the granddaughter to OakRidge’s Findus and a Dahlia/Rolf daughter. Both dog’s hips and elbows are top rated(A) and dysplasia free. Rosa is red and camo is a brown Schimmel.

2013 - Findus vom Wolfsberg X Dahlia vom Auberg - Q Litter
Findus and Dahlia are German imports bred from proven/tested German hunting stock. Dahlia was selectively picked for me to match and accentuate the qualities of Findus and his lineage. Both the Sire and Dam's hips and elbows have been certified "free" (equivalent to OFA excellent) from elbow and hip dysplasia which is required for DWNA-VDW breeding.
